| A new feature on the ACGME website is a drop down navigation
menu that appears on the left side of the computer screen. Being a frames design,
this menu will always be present on the screen throughout your visit of the ACGME
website.
An expanding and collapsing menu design is being used to save space in the left column. What this means is when you click your mouse on the menu's text , submenus drop down below the clicked link. A horizontial-pointing arrow indicates a closed menu with sublinks. A vertical-pointing arrow displays an opened menu, with the sublinks showing. These submenus are active links that will take you to the desired page. A diamond indicates a single hyperlink, no submenus present. When a new submenu is opened, a pre-opened menu will automatically close. If you want it keep the pre-opened menu open, hold the control button down while you click on the new menu item. The colors of the heading text will change as the links are clicked. The current heading is highlighted in red text while the previously visited link is highlighted in maroon. This navigation aid helps you to remember how you browse through a document. This menu was designed for an 800 x 600 display screen, utilizing the drop down submenus to conserve space and eliminate the need for a scroll bar. However, if a long submenu is selected, a small display size is used, or several submenus are kept open; a scroll bar will appear automatically when needed. It then disappears again when the submenus are closed.
Remember: To close submenus -- Click again on the text. |
