George Dorian Wendel, Jr., MD is Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology in the Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas. His areas of research interest are infectious diseases in pregnancy, sexually transmitted diseases and clinical obstetrics. Dr. Wendel serves on the CDC expert consultant panel responsible for writing the STD Treatment Guidelines semiannually. He has been the residency program director at Parkland Memorial Hospital for 15 years. He is the Bud Brekken Professor and Vice-Chair for education in his department. He recently served as President of the medical staff at Parkland. Dr. Wendel has been a member and Director of the ABOG Maternal Fetal Medicine Division, and he is currently a member of the ABOG Board of Directors. He has been a member of the RRC for Obstetrics and Gynecology since January 2007, was vice-chair for one year and will became Chair in July of 2009. Dr. Wendel was also a member of the ACGME Duty Hours Task Force. |
