From 1972 to 1996 Dr. Epstein performed private clinical practice with the Hand Surgical Associates in Houston, and served St. Luke’s Episcopal Hospital in many capacities, including Chief of Medical Staff for two years, in 1994-95, and Senior VP for Health and Medical Affairs from 1996-97. During this time, he also performed Orthopaedic Surgery with Texas Children’s Hospital, Ben Taub General, and the Veteran’s Administration Hospital, in the hand section. He then joined Baylor College of Medicine in 1997, where he served as Professor of Surgery, Chief of the Hand and Upper Extremity Section, and Director of the Orthopaedic Hand Fellowship. In addition to his teaching duties, he served as the Chairman of the Institutional Safety and Security Committee, and as a member of the Graduate Medical Education Committee and Residency Review Subcommittee.
