ACGME Accreditation Field Representative
Thomas S. Renshaw, MD

Thomas S. Renshaw, MD earned his BS and his MD from Ohio State University. After internship at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio, his service as a flight surgeon in the US Air Force included service in Vietnam. Dr. Renshaw completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at University of Michigan Medical Center and fellowship training in pediatric orthopaedics at Newington Children's Hospital in Newington, Connecticut.


Dr. Renshaw is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. He has practiced at Newington Children's Hospital, and most recently was Professor and Chief of Pediatric Orthopaedics at Yale University, where he also served as director of the residency program in Orthopaedic Surgery.


Dr. Renshaw has served in a number of professional and scientific societies, including the Pediatric Orthopaedic Society of North America, the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the American Academy of Pediatrics, the European Pediatric Orthopaedic Society and the Scoliosis Research Society. He has conducted research on how to enhance bone healing and has published extensively.


Dr. Renshaw joined the Accreditation Field Staff of the ACGME in October 2005
