On behalf of the ACGME, we would like to extend our sincere thanks and appreciation to you for agreeing to participate in our 2008 ACGME Annual Educational Conference as a session speaker or workshop leader. Following is information to assist you and our conference organizers with preparations.

Submission of Information

All speakers are requested to submit the information listed below, to the Speaker Registration System by the dates indicated. Following the summary table is additional information about Hotel Reservations, the Permissions Form, and Hand-Outs and Presentations. If it is necessary for you to change submitted information after a deadlines and the electronic system is closed, please submit your changes to acgmeconference@acgme.org .

    Permissions Form

    Within the Speaker Registration System, your permission is being requested to post your conference hand-outs, including a hand-out of your presentation, on the ACGME website for download and printing by conference attendees. Your permission to record your session is also requested. The ACGME may record a few sessions and will notify you in advance if your session is selected.

    PowerPoint Slides and Presentation Hand-Outs

    To facilitate on-time conference presentations, the ACGME pre-loads presentations on a laptop computer. A computer with all presentations is located in each of the conference rooms. The ACGME also posts presentation hand-outs on its website for download and printing by attendees prior to the conference. Please provide us with your presentations and other hand-outs by the deadline (January 18, 2008) by uploading them in the Speaker Registration System.

    Guidelines for Preparation of PowerPoint Slides

    We strongly encourage all presenters to review the Guidelines before preparing your presentation. As you prepare your PowerPoint presentations, please keep in mind that you may be presenting in a large room with 200+ attendees. Also, a hand-out with 3 slides per page will be made from your presentation. A sufficiently large font size is very important.

    Hotel Accommodations, Airline Travel, and Ground Transportation

    Additional information about the hotel is available on their website at http://www.gaylordhotels.com/gaylordtexan/ . Grapevine is very near Dallas, TX .

    Your hotel accommodations will be handled by the ACGME. We have secured a block of rooms to accommodate arrivals beginning Wednesday, February 27 and departures no later than Sunday, March 2. ACGME reimburses conference-related expenses for travel, hotel, and meals. The hotel is sold-out before and after the conference. If you wish to extend your stay in Texas, you are responsible for making your own arrangements. You will receive hotel confirmation numbers by early February.     We have made arrangements with Euro Lloyd Travel to book air transportation and direct bill the ACGME. If you want to take advantage of this option, contact Karla Wheeler at 312 755-7126 or kwheeler@acgme.org .

    Ground transportation from the Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport to the Gaylord Texan in Grapevine is available. The Super Shuttle operates daily from 5:00 am to 6:00 pm and leaves the airport every 20 minutes.  The cost is $12.00 per person (one-way) from Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport .   For reservations or information, call 817-778-2411 or refer to the Super Shuttle website at http://www.supershuttle.com/default.aspx . A one-way cab fare from Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport to the Gaylord Texan is approximately $24.00.

    Immediately after the conference, you will receive instructions on how to submit your expenses using the ACGME's online system.

    Conference Registration

    Speakers are welcome to attend the conference. You do not need to register. A badge and conference materials will be available for pick-up from the registration desk.

    Speaker Room

    At the conference, a speaker room will be available where you can review your slides prior to your presentation. The location of the room will be provided in a final conference details memo you will receive in February, 2008.
