ACGME announces Leadership Skills Training Program for Chief Residents
Experiential workshops scheduled in three cities this spring and summer
CHICAGO, March 23, 2010 –- The Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education is proud to announce three experiential learning workshops for incoming (“rising”) chief residents. The three-day workshops will be held this spring and summer in Chicago, Illinois; Jacksonville, Florida; and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
The Leadership Skills Training Program for Chief Residents is designed for physicians who will be chief residents in the upcoming academic year. The workshops, which consist of small-group sessions and exercises, will give the incoming chief residents a better understanding of interpersonal communication and group dynamics, as well as their own management styles. They will learn how to effectively manage conflict, give and receive feedback, handle stress, and work with non-physician administrators.
