CHICAGO, Dec. 8, 2003 – The ACGME is proud to announce the publication of its first annual data book, Accreditation Data Systems (ADS) Graduate Medical Education Data Academic Year 2002-03. The book is a comprehensive, 42-page compilation of the ACGME’s aggregate statistical data on residents, residency programs and sponsoring institutions for academic year 2002-03. |

CHICAGO, July 30, 2003 -- It is with great sadness
that the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education announces the passing
of Marvin R. Dunn, MD, the ACGME's Director of RRC Activities. Dr. Dunn, 71, died
July 30. He was a nationally-renowned figure in organized medicine and a dear
colleague and friend to the ACGME, as well as to the broader academic medical
community. |

hours standards now in effect for all residency programs |

CHICAGO , July 1, 2003 – Starting today, all 7,800
residency programs in the United States must comply with the Accreditation Council
for Graduate Medical Education's duty hours standards, which limit resident duty
hours to a maximum of 80 hours a week and set other restrictions on duty hours. |
