Dec 8 First-ever ACGME data book now available
  CHICAGO, Dec. 8, 2003 – The ACGME is proud to announce the publication of its first annual data book, Accreditation Data Systems (ADS) Graduate Medical Education Data Academic Year 2002-03. The book is a comprehensive, 42-page compilation of the ACGME’s aggregate statistical data on residents, residency programs and sponsoring institutions for academic year 2002-03.

  CHICAGO, Nov. 4, 2003 - The Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education has named 10 residency program directors from across the country as the 2004 Parker J. Palmer award recipients.

July 30 ACGME mourns Dr. Marvin R. Dunn, Director of RRC activities
CHICAGO, July 30, 2003 -- It is with great sadness that the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education announces the passing of Marvin R. Dunn, MD, the ACGME's Director of RRC Activities. Dr. Dunn, 71, died July 30. He was a nationally-renowned figure in organized medicine and a dear colleague and friend to the ACGME, as well as to the broader academic medical community.
July 1 ACGME duty hours standards now in effect for all residency programs
CHICAGO , July 1, 2003 – Starting today, all 7,800 residency programs in the United States must comply with the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education's duty hours standards, which limit resident duty hours to a maximum of 80 hours a week and set other restrictions on duty hours.
