The General Competencies
The reference lists below include background materials
on the General Competencies. Each of the lists is
divided into several broad categories: Theories/Concepts/Rationale
and Teaching-Learning. These categories are not exclusive,
nor are the lists meant to be exhaustive. Rather,
they are provided as a starting point for those wishing
more in-depth reading on the competencies and approaches
to their assessment. Inclusion on a list DOES NOT
imply endorsement by the ACGME of any particular theory
or method contained herein.
