RSVP Criteria for Submission

Does your program have a particularly informative example from which others can learn? An incredible success? A small step in the right direction? A failed attempt that proved to be particularly instructional? How has the Outcome Project shaped your efforts to improve the quality of resident education?

Your story should:

  1. Identify the competency(-ies) highlighted in your effort.
  2. Specify its general goal.
  3. Name the specialty and level of residents involved.
  4. Describe how the effort is valuable to your program, e.g., what has its usefulness been thus far related to overall program improvement? to a specific goal? etc. (Optional) Although not required, some statement regarding use of resources, i.e., time, budget, technology, etc., would be helpful to others interested in pursuing a similar project.

Other submission criteria include:

  1. Length: maximum of 350 words (not including title or references)
  2. Title: maximum of 10 words
  3. Format: either Microsoft Word or WordPerfect
  4. References: maximum of three (not required)
  5. Identification: name, address, and e-mail address of program director, project director, or designated institutional official serving as contact for inquiries
  6. Electronic image: graphic of institution, individuals associated with effort, relevant logo of program and/or institution (highly desirable, but not required). Image must be in .gif or .jpg format and be no larger than 200 x 200 pixels.

Preference for web publication will be given to those submissions that 1) demonstrate actual efforts rather than plans; and, 2) can serve as useful and instructive examples for the broader GME community. The ACGME reserves the right to edit submissions (in conjunction with the authors) for consistency with our website style.

Send your submissions as an e-mail attachment to srs@acgme.org.
