Call for Sessions Information

2022 Annual Educational Conference
February 24-27, 2022

Each year the ACGME solicits proposals for sessions to be presented at the Annual Educational Conference. Below is key information for those considering submitting a session proposal.

Session proposals can be submitted for the Educational Conference or for the Coordinator Forum Pre-Conference.

When does the Call for Sessions open?

The Call for Sessions for the 2022 conference will open at the end of June 2021 and close at the beginning of August. Dates will be announced in the ACGME’s weekly e-Communication and on the ACGME website.

Who should submit a proposal?

For the Educational Conference: members of the graduate medical education (GME) community (designated institutional officials (DIOs), program directors, faculty members, hospital administration/C-Suite/leadership, institutional/GME personnel, residents, fellows)

For the Coordinator Forum Pre-Conference: program and institutional coordinators

What topics are you looking for?

Topics can address accreditation, education, assessment, well-being, diversity and inclusion, crisis management, current issues in medicine, and other GME-related research and innovations in the clinical learning environment.

Proposals should be interactive and display creativity and innovation in areas that meet the needs of the GME community. Applicants should rely on their expertise, and collaboration across programs and/or institutions is encouraged!

What types of sessions can I submit a proposal for?

Educational Conference:

  • Workshop (75-minute session; limited to 250 participants)
  • Didactic Session (75-minute session; no limit number of participants)

Coordinator Forum Pre-Conference:

  • Workshop (60-minute session; limited to 250 participants)

What will I need to submit a session proposal?

  • Contact information (including bios and headshots) for all individuals involved in the proposal; maximum of four presenters per session
    Please note: Session judging and selection is a blind process. Individuals’ contact information will not be shared.
  • Session title
  • Session plan
  • Session description
  • Session objectives
