Michael Reese, CPA, MBA
Michael Reese joined the ACGME as Vice President, Finance in April 2026 with responsibility for accounting operations, financial planning and reporting, treasury, and internal control. Mr. Reese brings to this role more than 30 years of financial management experience across non-profit, higher education, and commercial environments, with a focus on strengthening systems, improving governance, and supporting long‑term organizational sustainability.
Prior to joining the ACGME, he was the Vice President of Finance at the Morton Arboretum, a tree-focused public garden and world-renowned scientific research center that studies trees and how to sustain them. In this role, he provided leadership for financial operations and strategy, risk management, and management of the organization’s endowment.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Reese served as a management consultant and senior financial executive across a wide range of organizational settings, including emerging and mid‑market companies, investor‑backed technology start-ups, and large publicly held enterprises. This breadth of experience informs his pragmatic approach to financial stewardship.
Mr. Reese holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. He earned his Bachelor of Business Administration in accounting from the University of Iowa. He is also a Certified Public Accountant in Illinois.
