Laura Huth, MBA

Executive Director, RCs for Obstetrics and Gynecology, Ophthalmology, and Urology

Ms. Huth completed her undergraduate degrees and MBA at West Chester University, majoring in political science and French. She taught elementary school English in Paris, France before returning to the US to work in social services. In 2010, she joined the Department of Surgery at Penn Medicine and during her nearly 14-year career there, she was involved in multiple facets of surgical education, holding several positions over her 14-year career, including Undergraduate Medical Education & Continuing Medical Education Coordinator (2011-2013), Graduate Medicine Education Coordinator for General Surgery (2013-2017), Education Division Manager (2017-2019), Associate Director (2019-2021), and Director (2021-2023). Her accomplishments have been recognized at Penn with the Council of Chiefs Service Excellence Award in 2017 and the Graduate Medical Education Citizenship Award in 2022. Ms. Huth is a staunch advocate for preliminary surgical residents and international medical graduates, and has delivered national presentations on effectively nurturing the distinctive requirements of these learners.

Outside of the office, Ms. Huth champions the public school system and currently serves as the President of Friends of HA Brown, a community organization committed to supporting the students and staff members of HA Brown Elementary School in Philadelphia, where her first- and third-grade children are enrolled. Her dedication has earned her multiple grants to further her initiatives in supporting Philadelphia's youth.
