The ACGME convened the members of the first ACGME Equity Matters^TM Learning Communities last week in Chicago to celebrate the completion of their engagement cycle and share projects developed from the initiative.

A website has been set up to provide information and updates on the Undergraduate Medical Education (UME) Competencies initiative. The initiative aims to create a common set of foundational competencies for use in UME programs in the US and improve the transition to graduate medical education.

William A. McDade, MD, PhD has joined the ACGME as its Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer. He will lead diversity and inclusion activities focusing on national initiatives to include underrepresented groups in the medical education continuum.
