The ACGME this week again presented awards at its Annual Educational Conference, recognizing noteworthy achievements from a wide range of talented graduate medical education professionals. The awards included 26 individuals and three institutions.

Learn more about the Jeremiah A. Barondess Fellowship in the Clinical Transaction, an award given jointly by the ACGME and New York Academy of Medicine, in this Q and A with Dr. Brian Garibaldi, who received the first Barondess Fellowship in 2016.

ACGME Chief of Staff and Chief Education Officer Timothy P. Brigham, MDiv, MS, PhD brought together two national leaders in medicine, Victor Dzau, MD, president of the National Academy of Medicine (NAM), and Vivek H. Murthy, MD, MBA, US Surgeon General, to discuss the work to develop the NAM National Plan for Health Workforce Well-Being.

Two areas where the GME community is seeking additional guidance and clarification from the ACGME are telemedicine and the ACGME Resident/Fellow and Faculty Surveys. Here we provide further explanation on these two topics.

2022-2024 Jeremiah A. Barondess Fellow Danielle L. Clark, MD is a hospitalist, assistant professor of medicine, and associate program director for the internal medicine residency program at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center. Dr. Clark specializes in internal medicine.
