Outstanding medical skills are not the same as leadership skills, and many newly appointed chief residents find a gap between their education and training and their new leadership role. To bridge that gap, the ACGME offers the Leadership Skills Training Program for chief residents.

In an effort to emphasize the Engaging Each Other portion of the conference theme, the Educational Activities team, responsible for putting the conference together under the leadership of Timothy P. Brigham, MDiv, PhD, has added a few exciting new items to this year’s event.

In the poster, Waging War Against Physician Burnout: Overcoming the Barriers of Military Medicine with Personalized Patient Care Boards, presented at the 2021 ACGME Annual Educational Conference, Dr. Jessika Weber and colleagues present their project that looked at how customized care boards in pediatric patient rooms are helping young patients.

The ACGME is pleased to present findings and resources from the Summit on Medical Education in Nutrition in collaboration with the American Association of Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine and the Association of American Medical Colleges.

2020 ACGME David C. Leach Awardee David Valentine, MD is a fellow in clinical neurophysiology at New York University’s Langone Health.

The ACGME has selected 30 resident/fellow teams to receive the fourth cycle of funding for Back to Bedside, a resident-led initiative to develop innovative strategies for finding deeper connections with patients, improving physician and patient well-being.
