2023 Parker J. Palmer Courage to Lead Awardee Dr. Kim Baker-Genaw is the designated institutional official (DIO) at Henry Ford Health in Detroit, Michigan.

2023 Debra L. Dooley GME Program Coordinator Excellence Awardee Sharon Ezzo is an education administrator for epilepsy and clinical neurophysiology programs at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio.

The ACGME this week again presented awards at its Annual Educational Conference, recognizing noteworthy achievements from a wide range of talented graduate medical education professionals. The awards included 26 individuals and three institutions.

2021 David C. Leach Awardee Amanda Lezanski-Gujda, DO is the head of teledermatology at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center.

The Caribbean nation of Haiti faces unique challenges in putting its philosophy that “health care is a right” into practice. Kerling Israel, MD, MPH described the work of Partners in Health/Zanmi Lasante (PIH/ZL) to improve the nation’s health care through graduate medical education (GME), and outlined the challenges faced and progress made in her recent Baldwin Seminar Series presentation, “Improving Graduate Medical Education in Haiti through Collaborative Work.” The talk was presented April 3, 2019 at the ACGME offices in Chicago. This talk was also the first of the series to be streamed online for a live audience.

The ACGME, Intealth, and the Medical Council of Canada (MCC) entered into an agreement to enhance post-graduate medical education (PGME) through the development of assessment programs.

This ACGME and National Academy of Medicine partnership will hold its first public meeting July 14 to explore approaches to promoting physician well-being and highlight current research.
