As part of its commitment to staff and community well-being, the ACGME is partnering with Hope For The Day, a Chicago-based non-profit organization dedicated to mental health support and suicide prevention.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and this month the ACGME will shine a spotlight on resources for enhancing the well-being of all in the GME community.

Two areas where the GME community is seeking additional guidance and clarification from the ACGME are telemedicine and the ACGME Resident/Fellow and Faculty Surveys. Here we provide further explanation on these two topics.

In the 2021 ACGME Annual Educational Conference session, “Moving Urgently Toward Competency-Based Assessment in GME,” presenters from the ABMS and  ACGME discussed that “the ultimate outcome for graduate medical education is the Quadruple Aim: better outcomes; improved clinician experience; lower costs; improved patient experience.”

During their presentation “Using Public Data to Follow Graduates into Practice,” at the 2019 Annual Educational Conference, Marc M. Triola, MD and Patrick M. Cocks, MD, from the NYU School of Medicine have leveraged large databases of publicly available information to help understand the patterns of health care practice and outcomes among graduates from programs once they have left the programs.
