The ACGME issued a statement April 5, 2020 regarding its expectations within the clinical learning environment amidst the shortage of personal protective equipment (PPE). This statement is updated to include a link to resources on optimizing PPE.

The ACGME has updated its Procedures for Alleged Egregious Events to address how it will rapidly respond to alleged non-compliance with the four prevailing COVID-19 priority requirements, including the addition of a public sanction.

Following steady growth in ACGME-accredited programs over the last decade, the 2018-2019 academic year showed the largest annual increase of programs to 11,685, up 4.2 percent from the previous academic year.
