In the wake of the devastating events in Orlando on June 12, the ACGME grieves with the people of Orlando and across the United States. We mourn the injury and loss of life.
As an organization with a mission to “improve health care and population health by assessing and advancing the quality of resident physicians' education through accreditation,” the ACGME recognizes and deeply values the tremendous responsibility and dedication of the members of the health care community to care for the public and patients in the aftermath of such incidents.
We are incredibly proud of the work of our nation’s teaching hospitals, faculty members, residents, fellows, and the other health care providers across the medical continuum who work tirelessly to care for patients and their families and help repair broken communities.
