SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University, located in Brooklyn, New York, is one of four honorees receiving the ACGME’s Barbara Ross-Lee, DO Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Award in 2022. 2022 Parker J. Palmer Courage to Teach Awardee Dr. Michael Aylward is the program director for the internal medicine-pediatrics program at the University of Minnesota Medical School in Minneapolis.

Debra L. Dooley GME Program Coordinator Excellence Awardee MaryAnne Wesner, C-TAGME is the GME program manager for the pediatric residency program at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, Pennsylvania. 

2022 Parker J. Palmer Courage to Teach Awardee Vance Sohn, MD, works in strategic operations for US Army Medical Command in the Office of the Surgeon General, US Army. Dr. Sohn specializes in general surgery and surgical oncology. 

2022 Debra L. Dooley GME Program Coordinator Excellence Awardee LaToya Wright currently serves as the institutional administrator at UT Southwestern Medical Center; she was program coordinator for diagnostic radiology, for which she is receiving this award. 

2022 Parker J. Palmer Courage to Lead Awardee Dr. Joann Porter, MD, FACP is the designated institutional official (DIO) and associate dean for GME at Creighton University School of Medicine. 

2022 Debra L. Dooley GME Program Coordinator Excellence Awardee Hemali Shah, C-TAGME, PACE works as the administrative director of graduate medical education for the department of surgery at the University of Illinois at Chicago.
