The final discussion forum to help create a common set of foundational competencies for use in undergraduate medical education programs in the US will be held December 6.

On August 7, 2019, Ohio Valley Medical Center (OVMC) in Wheeling, West Virginia informed its employees it would close in 60 to 90 days. OVMC is a participating site for ACGME-accredited emergency medicine and internal medicine residency programs.

Hahnemann University Hospital (HUH) closed its first tier of GME programs July 29 and will close the second and final tier August 6. More than 95 percent of residents/fellows have found new positions and most not yet placed have received offers.

More than 300 designated institutional officials, institutional coordinators, and other members of the graduate medical education (GME) community attended the ACGME’s third National Learning Community of Sponsoring Institutions and Clinical Learning Environments meeting, Building Connections, Leading Change, at the ACGME Conference Center and online October 8 and 9, 2024.
