On behalf of the ACGME, we welcome those of you coming to the Annual Educational Conference from outside the US, and especially those of you attending for the first time. Below are some brief thoughts to help you navigate the conference and the program.

A powerful statement and call to action for the graduate medical education (GME) community was delivered by ACGME President and Chief Executive Officer Thomas J. Nasca, MD, MACP in his President’s Plenary on Thursday, March 31, 2022, the kick-off for the virtual ACGME Annual Educational Conference.

The 2022 ACGME Annual Educational Conference will be a fully virtual experience for the second year in a row, including pre-conferences. While the conference will offer content in live, semi-live, and on-demand formats, the pre-conferences are almost entirely live, which presents a unique and exciting opportunity to connect and learn. 

The Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) has released a video featuring ACGME President and CEO Thomas J. Nasca, MD, MACP, AAMC President and CEO Darrell G. Kirch, MD, and National Academy of Medicine President Victor J. Dzau, MD.

The final discussion forum to help create a common set of foundational competencies for use in undergraduate medical education programs in the US will be held December 6.

The ACGME and Intealth collaborated on a successful physician well-being seminar in Chicago this past weekend, addressing the unique needs of foreign national physicians in US graduate medical education programs.

On July 15, 2019, the ACGME requested that the United States Bankruptcy Court require Hahnemann University Hospital to provide for orderly and expeditious transfer of all residents and fellows to programs of their choosing. (Updated July 16, 2019.)
