The ACGME's Back to Bedside initiative seeks innovative ideas to increase time residents and fellows spend with patients and reduce physician burnout.

Thirty proposals were selected for their ability to enhance the resident/fellow-patient connection, and foster joy and meaning in work. A total of $130,000 at different funding levels will be awarded, renewable up to two years.

Barondess Fellowship in the Clinical Transaction, which supports junior faculty members in internal medicine with a commitment to develop a program that enhances this fundamental element of clinical care through education innovation.
