The Advisory Commission on Additional Licensing Models has released new guidance for state medical boards, legislators, and employers working on new licensure pathways for physicians who have already trained and practiced medicine outside the US.

ACGME President and CEO Dr. Thomas J. Nasca joins NAM President Dr. Victor J. Dzau in encouraging others to join NAM’s new initiative to mobilize all health sector organizations and accelerate the national climate and health movement. 

The final discussion forum to help create a common set of foundational competencies for use in undergraduate medical education programs in the US will be held December 6.

The ACGME released its 2020-2021 Data Resource Book, the most comprehensive and reliable resource of its kind, including data on the size, scope, and distribution of graduate medical education in the US.

Dr. Hamstra was a recipient of the seventh annual John A. Benson Jr., MD Professionalism Article Prize, which recognizes the importance of scholarly publication to advance the field of medical professionalism.

This award recognizes residents and fellows who have fostered innovation and improvement in their residency programs, advanced humanism in medicine, and increased efficiency and emphasis on educational outcomes.
