Susan Holub

Susan Holub joined the ACGME as its first Director, External Communications in April 2016 after holding three different communication leadership roles at the second-largest health system in Illinois, formerly Presence Health.

Ms. Holub has more than 20 years of experience leading teams in the development and execution of strategic communications for organizations in the financial, architectural, legal, and health care sectors. She specializes in media relations, crisis communication, reputation management, brand awareness, change communication, and digital strategy.

As Director, Internal Communications for Presence Health, Ms. Holub helped form the first Internal Communications Department after a merger that doubled the organization in size. Additional achievements in her tenure there include development and execution of proactive public relations campaigns and crisis plans for initiatives that included open enrollment under the ACA, Ebola preparedness, and price transparency. She also led the communication strategy for the fusion of two intranet platforms post-merger into SharePoint and facilitated change communications for a systemwide revenue cycle project and electronic health record system installation project, among others.

Since joining the ACGME, Ms. Holub has helped expand and develop the Department of Communications and Public Policy. She provides oversight for external communications, internal communications, marketing, and social media and works closely with senior leadership, partners, and the community to  increase understanding and awareness of the ACGME’s activities and achievements, while building engagement with key stakeholders. She serves as the primary media contact for the organization.

Ms. Holub earned her BA in public relations and Spanish from Illinois State University in Normal, Illinois and completed an MBA certificate program at Loyola University in Chicago. She is currently working on her Master’s in Public Health with a focus in health policy and administration from the University of Chicago-Illinois.
