The Call for Sessions for the 2022 ACGME Annual Educational Conference is closed.

Each year the ACGME solicits proposals for sessions to be presented at the Annual Educational Conference. Below is key information for those considering submitting a session proposal.

Session proposals can be submitted for the Educational Conference or for the Coordinator Forum Pre-Conference.

The 2021 ACGME Annual Educational Conference hosted more than 5,800 attendees from all corners of GME. The attendee breakdown included:

When does the Call for Sessions open?
The Call for Sessions typically opens in early-May and closes early-June. Specific dates each year will be announced in the ACGME’s weekly e-Communication, on www.acgme.org, and on the ACGME’s Twitter and LinkedIn accounts.

Who should submit a proposal?
Educational Conference: members of the graduate medical education (GME) community, designated institutional officials (DIOs), program directors, faculty members, hospital administration/C-Suite/leadership, institutional/GME personnel, residents, fellows)

Coordinator Forum Pre-Conference: institutional and program coordinators

What topics should proposals address?
Topics can address accreditation; education; assessment; well-being; diversity, equity, and inclusion; crisis management; current issues in medicine; and other GME-related research and innovations in the clinical learning environment.

Proposals should be interactive and display creativity and innovation in areas that meet the needs of the GME community. Applicants should rely on their expertise, and collaboration across programs and/or institutions is encouraged!

For what types of sessions can proposals be submitted?
Educational Conference:

  • Workshop (75-minute session; limited to 250 participants)
  • Didactic Session (75-minute session; no limit number of participants)

Coordinator Forum Pre-Conference:

  • Workshop (60-minute session; limited to 250 participants)

What is needed for submission of a session proposal?

  • The bios, headshots, and presenting experience of all presenters
  • Contact information (name, degree(s), email, institution, job title, work address, phone number) for all individuals involved in the proposal; maximum of four presenters per session
    Note: All session proposals go through a blind selection process and personal identifiers will be removed from submission when being reviewed.
  • Session title (limit to 90 characters, including spaces)
  • Session plan (lay out how session time will be used, do not make reference to specific presenters by name) (limit to 1,000 characters, including spaces)
  • Session description (one paragraph; limit to 1,000 characters, including spaces)
  • One to three session objectives
