NEW! Upcoming Major Revision of Program Requirements for Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery

The Review Committee invites comments related to specific requirements or topics that should be addressed as revisions are developed. In particular, the Review Committee invites comments related to what the subspecialty will look like in the future, and the competencies, resources, and personnel necessary to create physicians who will practice in this subspecialty.

Changes to the ACGME Common Program Requirements are not within the purview of the Review Committee and, therefore, comments related to Common Program Requirements, indicated by bold font in the Requirements document, should not be submitted and will not be considered. 

Submit comments to Accreditation Administrator Angel Mathisby June 10, 2025.

Family Medicine Data Collection 

Using the Case Log System Family medicine specialty data will now be collected using the ACGME Case Log System starting with the 2024-2025 academic year. A tutorial video is available to help programs prepare for the change in data collection and is accessible from the Documents and Resources page of the Family Medicine section of the ACGME website.

Developing Faculty Competencies in Assessment

Participants learn how to build effective assessment programs for their residency or fellowship, with topics including assessment methods, feedback, direct observation, Clinical Competency Committees, and more. The course is being held in a split format July 23-25 and October 15-17 (registrants attend on all session dates). Registration closes June 27.

An Analysis of Obstetrics and Gynecology Medical Student Performance Evaluation Clerkship Narratives: Insights From the PRIME+ Framework

This study aimed to categorize Medical Student Performance Evaluation (MSPE) narrative comments using the PRIME+ framework, a widely used tool for assessing medical students in clinical settings. The study found that the length and content of comments varied by medical school of origin and by final clerkship grade.
