The 2022 ACGME Annual Educational Conference kicked off—appropriately, on National Doctors’ Day—with five pre-conferences, each tailored to a specific role in graduate medical education (GME). Despite the virtual setting, the pre-conferences featured community, connection, and deep collective learning.

Timing the launch of this blog with our Annual Educational Conference might just be kismet, because the theme of this year’s conference, Engaging Each Other: Transformation through Collaboration, speaks to the goal of tuning in and work together, to gather and initiate growth and change.

ACGME President and Chief Executive Officer Thomas J. Nasca, MD, MACP announced today that he intends to step down from his current role on January 1, 2025, to establish the ACGME Center for Professionalism and the Future of Medicine.

In July 2021, and in support of its commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, the ACGME proudly and formally announced ACGME Equity Matters^TM, a new initiative that introduces a framework for continuous learning and process improvement in the areas of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) and anti-racism practices.

As with so many other events, the 2021 ACGME Annual Educational Conference will be virtual this year. But its value as a networking and learning opportunity remains exceptional.
