Lynne Kirk, MD, MACP will join the ACGME to lead efforts related to the review of residency and fellowship programs. She will begin this new position in September.

Thirty-three projects designed to help residents and fellows find deeper connections with patients and improve physician and patient well-being have been chosen in the second cycle of funding for Back to Bedside.

The ACGME today hosted the fifth public meeting of the National Academy of Medicine’s (NAM) Action Collaborative on Clinician Well-Being and Resilience focused on “Redesigning the Clinical Learning Environment.”

The American Association of Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine awarded Dr. Nasca the William D. Miller Leadership Award, which recognizes extraordinary individuals who have made tremendous contributions to the advancement of the osteopathic profession.

Susan Day, MD, senior vice president, medical affairs, ACGME International received the Marshall M. Parks Silver Medal from the Children’s Eye Foundation of the American Association for Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus (AAPOS).

William A. McDade, MD, PhD has joined the ACGME as its Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer. He will lead diversity and inclusion activities focusing on national initiatives to include underrepresented groups in the medical education continuum.

The ACGME this week again presented awards at its Annual Educational Conference, recognizing noteworthy achievements from a wide range of talented graduate medical education professionals. The awards included 26 individuals and three institutions.
