NEW! 2024-2025 Data Resource Book Now Available

Late in 2025, the ACGME announced that the 2024-2025 Data Resource Book was in development for publication. The ACGME is pleased to announce that the Data Resource Book, as well as new self-service resources, are now available for the GME community to access and use!

The ACGME evaluated the Data Resource Book process, and considered feedback and requests from the community to publish the book in its current form one more time. This approach will facilitate a smooth transition as the ACGME introduces self-service resources and tools in ACGME Cloud | Analytics. Going forward, these data will be exclusively available in ACGME Cloud | Analytics – Explore Public Data. It is the ACGME’s intention with this decision to secure access, allow for more timely publishing of the data, and optimize resource efficiency.

Access the 2024-2025 Data Resource Book on the ACGME website.

The ACGME Cloud Support page will now include:

  • How-To Guides (left side) – Direct links to step-by-step guides that correspond to specific sections of the Data Resource Book.
  • Dashboards (right side) – Direct links to the ACGME Cloud | Analytics dashboards, where users can navigate to the data on their own.

Email Cloud@acgme.org with questions or for technical support with the platform.

NEW! JGME Articles of the Week

Pragmatic Study: Resident Verbal Handoffs Using I-PASS Reduces Adverse Patient Events During Transitions of Care
Anh Tuan Pham, MD; Jayaram Chandrasekar, DO; Armando Camacho-Santos, MD; Matthew Cappiello, MD; Esther Y. Choi, MD; Lawrence K. Loo, MD
In this Original Research article, the authors sought to determine whether a pragmatic, time-efficient intervention could decrease adverse patient outcomes during end-of-week transitions of care between inpatient resident teams. After evaluating 3,744 patients, they found success in using time-efficient structured verbal I-PASS (illness severity; patient summary; action lists; situation awareness; synthesis by receiver) hand-off, when compared to an unstructured hand-off.

A Resident-Focused Older Adult Social Engagement Curriculum to Change Assumptions and Perceptions of Aging
Zoe Kohler-Boland, BA; Bryanna De Lima, MPH; Laura K. Byerly, MD
Social isolation and loneliness are strongly associated with poor health outcomes among older adults; however, GME often limits dedicated geriatrics clinical education and training. The authors created mandatory educational sessions on social isolation and loneliness and structured outreach calls to older adults at elevated risk of these conditions. The authors found that the curriculum shifted first-year residents’ perceptions toward a more thoughtful understanding of aging. It also increased their intentions to integrate a more complex understanding of aging and social isolation and loneliness into their future work.
