The 2017-2018 academic year showed the largest annual increase of programs from the previous academic year, and residents in ACGME pipeline programs increased 23% in the last 10 years.

Following steady growth in ACGME-accredited programs over the last decade, the 2018-2019 academic year showed the largest annual increase of programs to 11,685, up 4.2 percent from the previous academic year.

In a Featured Plenary at #ACGME2023 entitled Nutrition and Health: Developing a GME Framework, Kate Sommerfeld, MPA, David Seres, MD, ScM, PNS, FASPEN, and Jaclyn Lewis Albin, MD, CCMS, DipABLM discussed the importance of nutrition and engaging with local populations to improve nutrition education.
