NEW! Scheduling Criteria for Resident and Fellow Milestones Evaluations

Started Program Off-Cycle Status

Residents and fellows with a "Started Off-Cycle" status in the Accreditation Data System (ADS) will be automatically scheduled to participate in Milestones evaluations once they have been in their program for at least 60 days.

Leaves of Absence

Additionally, residents and fellows who have recently had or are currently on a leave of absence are also scheduled for a Milestones evaluation.

These updates apply for the reporting window open now and hereafter. The changes allow more data to be collected and create a more complete record of evaluations for each learner.

For more information, visit the Milestones section of the ACGME Cloud | Support page, or email questions to ADS@acgme.org.

NEW! Combined Programs Update

The board curricular requirements for the following combined program formats are now posted in the table on the Combined Programs page:

  • Aerospace Medicine-Emergency Medicine (New)
  • Aerospace Medicine-Internal Medicine (New)

  • Emergency Medicine-Internal Medicine-Critical Care Medicine (Updated)

Curricular requirements for the remaining formats will be posted as they become available.

Specialty-specific questions should be directed to the relevant Review Committee staff members.

UPDATED! Nutrition Milestones for Review and Comment

draft of the proposed multidisciplinary Nutrition Milestones is available for review and comment. The Work Group also created a Supplemental Guide to enhance understanding of the draft Milestones.

These Milestones have been developed for use as a tool by programs to assess whether their nutrition curriculum and experiences are improving residents’/fellows’ nutrition competence. This subcompetency will not be a part of programs’ biannual reporting requirements.

The community’s ongoing participation in the Milestones revision process is crucial to the Milestones development. Kindly distribute the draft linked above and survey linked below among colleagues and learners so that they can review the new material.

Deadline: Friday, May 22

Email questions to milestones@acgme.org.
